The Rui Costa e Sousa & Irmão, S.A., company with the head office in Tondela, is nowadays the leader on transformation and trading in codfish of the country. Since its constitution in November 1981, has been adopting one strategy of a progressive and solid expansion.

With nearly 300 employers, the company has human resources highly qualified, sustained with the most sophisticated resources and equipments in the production process.

The reflex of quality and stability in the market, the Rui Costa e Sousa & Irmão SA had received in 2003 the 1º National Reward attributed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing.
In May 2005, was present on the *XXII Convention World Quality Commitment Star Award* in Paris, to receive the international reward of Quality and Excellence - *"The World Quality Commitment Trophy"*, gold category.

Its politics of growth and consolidation, settles in principles of precision, competence and efficiency in a way that the company forms and take over that is really important: High Quality, to arrive at all tables of the world the codfish with the genuine taste of tradition.

Substructure and Fleet:

To support the level of established growth were created commercials places in strategic locals, the best services to serve and it was acquired one modern fleet with near 30 vehicles to reach to you the “High Quality”.
- in July of 1990 - Vila Real, in January of 1990 - Lousada, in July of 1993 - Famalicão, in July of 1995 - Póvoa de Santa Iría and MARL (Market supplier of the Lisbon countryside).

In November of 2000, for the prosecution of its work, the Group had three industrials unities of codfish:

- Tondela (registered office of the Group RCSI), in November of 1981
- Gafanha da Nazaré (Brites, Vaz e Irmão, S.A.), in February 1998
- Gafanha da Nazaré (previous T.B.C.-Transformation of codfish and frozen, last purchase of the Group in 2004, increasing its drying capacity.

Following the Group evolution, in 2002 was formed a company São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) - the Brascod, Ltda - for commercialization, and in the near future one unity for codfish production, initiating his internationalization process.
